Efficiency. Beauty. Human-Centred Design.

It’s in our DNA and in our Danish roots.

We pioneered the application of arbejdsglæde at large scale in the office space, and we continue to apply these principles to strategically create workspaces that feel like home, reinforce and strengthen culture, and inspire innovation through employee wellness and contentment.

Whether it’s 5,000 or 50,000 square feet, our goal is to design offices where employees thrive and are inspired to do their best work.

arbejdsglæde -
\ arh-byts-glae-the \ - "work joy"; job satisfaction measured in cognitive, affective, and behavioral components
hygge -
\ huge-guh \ - "coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment"

Mette Johansen Keating

MetteSpace Founder and Creative Lead

For over a decade, Mette has been teaching North Americans about “Arbejdsglade” (Work Joy), a concept so embedded into culture in her native Denmark. Using a unique synthesis of design principles and modern office culture trends, Mette creates spaces that promote happiness and joy, and allow people to thrive in the workplace. Happy workplaces are more effective, productive, and significantly reduce absenteeism and employee turnover.

Mette is frequently featured in the media, including Toronto Life, The Globe and Mail, Financial Post, HR Professional, Canadian Interiors, Canadian Business, and on CBC Radio among many others. She is best known for her human-centric approach to the design of the physical space.
